PROJECT UPDATE
Grand Avenue Improvements – Section VII
The Grand Avenue Improvements – Section VII project continues the long-term modernization of the Grand Avenue corridor between Damen Avenue and Ogden Avenue. The project focuses on roadway reconstruction, accessibility upgrades, traffic modernization, and streetscape improvements designed to support safer and more efficient transportation infrastructure.
Planned improvements include concrete pavement reconstruction, asphalt resurfacing, sidewalk replacement, ADA ramp upgrades, smart LED street lighting, drainage improvements, landscaping, and pavement marking enhancements throughout the corridor.

Key Infrastructure Improvements
Corridor Improvements
The project includes concrete pavement reconstruction, asphalt resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement, pavement markings, signage installation, and roadway resurfacing improvements throughout the corridor.
Accessibility & Safety
New ADA ramps, widened sidewalks, raised crosswalks, and Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) will improve pedestrian accessibility and reduce pedestrian and vehicle conflicts.
Streetscape Enhancements
Protected bike lanes, decorative streetscape elements, seating areas, bicycle racks, and the planting of 157 new trees will create a more pedestrian-friendly corridor environment.
Traffic Modernization
Traffic signal modernization at three intersections and upgraded smart LED lighting systems will improve traffic flow, roadway visibility, and transportation efficiency.
